The 6 or 8 Double Row is the most popular brush fill pattern for main sweeping brushes. In this fill pattern, the rows of bristles pick up fine debris while the empty spaces in between the rows trap bulkier litter. The DR pattern is a good choice because it gives good performance on both fine and bulky debris.

|
Full Fill Brushes are designed for use in applications that have fine debris but not a lot of litter. The dense pattern of these brushes make them effective for trapping sand and dust.

|
Our Patrol Brush is designed for specifically for high-speed sweeping. This pattern has fewer rows with wider spaces in-between, which enables it to more effectively grab bulky litter at accelerated sweeping speeds. This brush is excellent for maintenance sweeping of large areas such as parking lots. .

Side Brushes or curb brooms have bristles flaring out around the edge of the brush. Side brushes reach into corners and against curbs, throwing debris out in front of the sweeper to be picked up by the main broom. Side Sweep brushes are made of Nylon, Poly and Flat Wire.

BRISTLE SELECTION:
We offer a full compliment of bristle patterns and selection as shown on the previous pages.
Sweeper Brush bristle aggressiveness ranked from least to greatest:
Union - Poly - Nylon - Union & Wire - Proex & Wire - Crinkle Wire - Flat Wire (side brush)
Scrubber Brush bristle aggressiveness ranked from least to greatest:
Soft Poly - Soft Nylon - Bassine - Poly - Nylon - .018 Grit - .035 Grit - Wire - .050 grit - .070 Grit
PATTERN SELECTION:
DOUBLE ROW DESIGN - This design is the most popular brush design. The design allows for constant contact of bristles on the surface, while the spacing provides increased vacuum efficiency and more versatile pick-up characteristics.
PATROL BRUSH - This design is typically a double or triple row herringbone pattern with greater spacing in between the rows. The design enhances sweeping of light debris and litter at high speeds. Typically available in Nylon only, Liberty Brush offers this design in Proex and Proex and wire for greater longevity in outdoor use.
FULL FILL or HIGH DENSITY - This is a single row design giving the brush a very full look. It is most effective in heavy dust conditions with fine debris and no litter. Indoor sweeping in concrete plants or bakeries would find this pattern ideal.

Performance Tips - Getting the most out of your new brush
|

BRUSH ADJUSTMENTS:
We love selling brushes, but we want to see you get the most out of your purchase. The following tips will assure you of this.
> ROTATION: this is one of the most overlooked tips. Ideally, you should remove your brush after 20 hours of sweeping and turn it end for end ( if your model permits this ) to keep the bristles from bending too far in one direction. An effective brush is one that has maximum flicking action and rotation will help your bristles maintain the greatest degree of flicking.
> DOWN PRESSURE ( Burning a Pattern ) : Start up your machine and lower your spinning brush onto a smooth surface. Spin the brush in place for about 30 seconds, lift it and pull forward. Now observe the pattern your brush has “burned” into the pavement. It should be a perfect rectangle the length of your main broom. If it is not perfect your brush is mis-aligned and should be adjusted. ( Refer to your owners manual.) If it is perfect check the width of the pattern. The pattern width should be adjusted to around 2” wide to start. You may be able to go less if the surface you are sweeping is flat and smooth and may have to go more if you are sweeping a very rough surface. The pattern should not exceed 4”, otherwise you are wasting your brush.
> Avoid sweeping with your brush in the “float” position, because it is very easy to forget you set it there and you could easily wear out a new brush in one day sweeping this way.
> Do not park your sweeper with the brush down, it will cause a flat spot that will lead to excessive vibration.
> Always store your brushes in their boxes in the upright position for the same reason as above. We take great care by shipping your main brushes in six sided boxes to protect the bristle shape if they are laid down in transit, but you should store them upright for greatest protection against bristle damage.
